For full digital control, Masterbuilt offers the MB20076718 Bluetooth electric smoker with a control panel that allows you to adjust the temperature, timer, and lights. You can also monitor the temperature through the Bluetooth app just like most Masterbuilt models.

The main difference in this Masterbuilt electric smoker model is the age and LED digital control panel display, which is larger and colored blue. This model has the same four chrome-coated racks, and it’s a little bit smaller than the previous Masterbuilt we reviewed. You can still smoke whole turkeys and chickens. It holds about 16 chickens altogether or 8 racks of ribs.

The side wood chip loading system ensures no heat loss. It’s about 71.7 pounds, but it comes with wheels just like the other Masterbuilt smoker models.

What We Liked

We like how easy the Masterbuilt electric smokers are. The Masterbuilt MB20076718 is one of the more affordable units because it’s a little bit older, but it’s still almost as good as our top pick. The main difference is that this one is smaller in height and a little heavier. We found that it was still easy to maneuver around the yard, and it can cook whole turkeys.

This smoker does fit a lot of food inside, and it’s easy to organize everything. The insulated body of the smoker keeps everything well-heated, so you don’t have to worry about losing temperature. You don’t even need to open the door to load in wood chips.

As far as the app, you can use Bluetooth to control your Masterbuilt from afar. It has the same functions as the other models, so you can turn it on, set the timer, and control temperature while monitoring the internal temperature. If you set a timer, you’ll receive an alert when it’s time to check on your finished meat.

What We Don’t Like

It was very slow to get started with this smoker. We saw that a few other customers had the same response about the temperature control on first start. However, once it reached the right temperature, it cooked just the same as the other Masterbuilt models.

Customers have reported issues with the Bluetooth not connecting with this Masterbuilt smoker. We urge anyone having these issues to talk to Masterbuilt. We were able to sit about 30 feet away and control everything from the app with no issues.

We want to look at some of the best electric smokers that may not have as advanced technology as Masterbuilt. While these may not include Bluetooth, the focus was really on the quality of the smoke and how reliable each of these electric smokers would be for a delicious final product.

Smokin-It Model #1 Electric Smoker

We can’t skip out on reviewing one of the most highly-rated electric smokers of all time. We took this opportunity to look at Smokin-It’s Model #1 Electric Smoker and see how well it functions in comparison to Masterbuilt and other smokers we reviewed.

The first thing that stands out about the Smokin-It Model #1 is that it has a solid steel construction. There is no glass pane, but it has a sturdy, reliable build with wheels, making it highly portable.

You can load up to 22 pounds of meat inside of the Smokin-It #1 so it’s perfect for barbecue parties. There are three stainless steel grilling racks included, as well as a drip pan and one-pound of hickory wood blocks.

It’s made from 18-gauge stainless steel, which is non-magnetic. It’s incredibly durable and most reviews we read in our research stated that this smoker lasted for many years with one customer stating they had been using the same smoker for over five years.

The lower parts of the smoker can actually be covered in foil for a quicker clean. The drip pan catches all the juices, but it can get messy to clean if you don’t use with foil.

Finally, we liked the length of this smoker’s manufacturer warranty. It comes with a 3-year warranty for parts and labor.

What We Don’t Like

While we really liked the convenience and lightweight build of this sturdy little smoker, there is no way to track the heat remotely. You can’t use Bluetooth with this or look in through the glass pane to check the meat. You really have to trust that the meat is cooking accurately, and we found that it was overall.

Masterbuilt MB20072718 Digital Electric Smoker 140S

Masterbuilt also created a remote control digital electric smoker that uses a radio frequency (RF) design. This is the Masterbuilt MB20072718 Digital Smoker. There are a number of features that come with this Masterbuilt smoker, including a glass pane door, remote control for temperature and timing, and wood chip loader.

Much of the Masterbuilt MB20072718’s design is similar to the other models that we have reviewed. It’s made to be convenient and easily set up to start smoking.

With a cooking space of 711 inches, you can cook whole turkeys, chickens, ribs, brisket, pork shoulder, whole husks of corn, and anything else you want to smoke.

Since this is an older Masterbuilt smoker design with an RF remote, it’s a bit more affordable if you want a large smoker that you can set and forget. It has the patented non-stick chrome-coated racks, as well as a wood chip loader.

What We Liked

It’s easy to control this Masterbuilt smoker with the remote. You can stand back and set the timer, turn it off and on, and control temperature easily. We found that it works just as well as the Bluetooth, but the range isn’t as far as the Bluetooth unites.

We were easily able to fit 20 pounds of meat inside of this smoker and have it organized completely within seconds. You don’t have to spend too much time loading wood chips in, as this also uses the patented side wood chip loader system.

What We Don’t Like

Some of the issues with this Masterbuilt include the wood chip loading size and warranty length. We wished that the wood chip loader in this model was a bit larger, as it got stuck trying to load in chips, which was a bit frustrating. In addition, these models also come with a shorter 90 day warranty.

Masterbuilt 20070210 30-Inch Black Electric Analog Smoker

For those who want an even more affordable and lightweight option, the Masterbuilt 20070210 30-inch Black Electric Analog Smoker may be the best choice. It comes with a large cooking space, high-powered heating elements, and a highly insulted smoking chamber to preserve all heat.

You can smoke and create all kinds of meats with this smoker. It’s adept at smoking whole turkeys as well as fish, sausages, and corn husks. While it’s not as big as the other Masterbuilt smokers we reviewed, you still get 548 square inches of cooking space with three chrome-coated racks. This is more than enough for family and small gatherings.

This smoker has a 1,500-watt heating element. It smokes evenly and efficiently without any need to add charcoal. The dual wall insulation also ensures that you don’t lose any heat, so your food cooks to the exact temperature precisely.

You can monitor the temperature using the gauge on the side of the door. You can check the interior temperature and make sure that it’s correct without having to open the door.

What We Liked

We were impressed with how lightweight and easy to move this smoker was. It’s also just incredibly efficient and smoked our meats with precision heat. We found our meats were perfectly cooked despite not being able to monitor from a distance.

This smoker was made to be smaller and more affordable so there are few features missing, but overall, this smoker is easy to set up and load. You don’t have to worry about not being able to fit your turkeys inside due to the 548-square inch cooking space, but you may not be able to fit all the meats at the same time with just 3 racks.

What We Don’t Like

In comparison to some of the other smokers on our list, this one is the best because of its price. If you are on a budget and need a high-quality no-fuss electric smoker, this one definitely delivers, but you don’t have any of the conveniences included with the other Masterbuilt models.

Since this is an analogue smoker and it comes with a front-load wood tray, you may have to open the door to check on meats at some point. We avoided doing this by measuring out our wood chips for our smoked turkey, and we got beautiful results despite not being able to check our meats during the cook.

These are especially useful for taking to tailgating parties, camping trips, and other adventurous travels or cooking events. Without all of the other Bluetooth features and fancy LCD screens, you get the Masterbuilt 20073716, which is a fully portable and extremely lightweight electric smoker. It only weighs about 22 pounds, yet it has a large capacity inside, and it comes with a removable chip tray.

This smoke was definitely made to be compact, so it’s really useful for smaller turkeys, chickens, ribs, brisket, and fish that you might bring on a camping trip or for small family gatherings.

You can easily carry this unit and set it anywhere. It has a heating element that delivers 1400-watt power and smokes all kinds of delicious meats in a matter of hours. There are three basic settings included with this smoker, including high, medium, and low. You can view the current temperature on the front door and make changes as needed.

What We Liked

If you want something compact that gets the job done, the Masterbuilt 20073716 is just that type of smoker. It’s made to be efficient, easy to move, and quite large inside. It uses porcelain and steel to provide a high-quality heating surface.

This little smoker only holds about 12 to 17 pounds of meat, depending on the type. It can fit a whole chicken, duck, or small turkey. This is actually one of the benefits because the budget-friendly cost. If you only want a smoker for your poultry and ribs, this gets the job done quickly and accurately.

What We Don’t Like

Our result was smoked decently, but we found that it only got up to 225 degrees. It also took longer to smoke anything on the top rack, so we had to remove it and use only the bottom rack. If you want something simple and easy to use, this smoker is definitely worth it. However, it won’t hold a lot of meat at one time for larger gatherings or bigger barbecue parties.

Masterbuilt 20070210 30-Inch Black Electric Analog Smoker

We also wanted to include the Masterbuilt 20070210 in the compact electric smokers’ section because it is quite easy to move around and fun to use. The Masterbuilt analog smoker is quite small but it still has a pretty large cooking space of 548 square inches. You can easily fit all kinds of food in this smoker, and it’s still highly mobile.

With a high-powered heating element and easy-to-use controls, you can change up the temperature using the dial and analog display on the outside of the unit. It comes with 1500 watts of power and can heat up to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Masterbuilt electric analog smoker also has a water and grease tray that catches all the dripping oils and fat. This can easily be removed and cleaned.

The best part about this compact smoker is that you can monitor the temperature on the outside without ever opening the door.

What We Liked

With some compact smokers, you don’t get the same heat as the Masterbuilt 20070210 gets with 1500 watts. You can smoke whole turkeys, ribs, sausages, chicken, fish, and more in this smoker, and it comes out perfectly.

Despite being smaller than some of the other smokers on this list, the Char Broil electric smoker is actually a bit big for the compact class. You can spread meat over three different racks with 548 square inches of space. The racks are easy to remove if you need to clean them or want to make space for larger turkeys.

While this smoker is very different from the digital models we reviewed, we found that it smoked our turkey beautifully. It was juicy and cooked in just a couple of hours.

What We Don’t Like

The Masterbuilt 20070210 is not as convenient as some of the other digital smokers we reviewed, but that’s not really one of the features of analog compact smokers. While this unit is a bit heavier than some of the smaller smokers, you can maneuver it on wheels, and it’s also easier to carry due to its lightweight build.

Char-Broil Analog Electric Smoker with Char-Broil Performance Smoker Cover, Kettle Grill

Sometimes you just want something that works and gets the job done. That’s how we felt about the Char-Broil Analog Electric Smoker. There is nothing fancy about this smoker, but it has straightforward functionality, which makes the Char Broil smoker easy to use. The whole point is to set it and forget it with these electric smokers anyway.

This is an older design with an analog thermometer, insulated cooking space, big wood chip box, and a water pan at the bottom of the smoker. Three chrome-plated racks are included, and you can remove the grates when you need more space or add a fourth rack if you opt for the add-on.

This smoker has a lot of heat for its size. It provides straightforward operation with consistently smoked results. It also comes with a one-year warranty for all parts and labor. You won’t find that with most electric smokers.

What We Liked

This is a compact smoker that delivers on heat. It has an industrial build made from high-quality steel. We know that it will last for decades, so you can have a smoker passed down in your family if you want. It also has a cook space of 544 square inches, which means you can cook whole turkeys, chickens, ribs, and more.

The wood chip box is also pretty large, which we like in comparison to the small wood chip boxes on some of the Masterbuilt models. You can stuff in all the wood chips you need at first, so you don’t have to open the door with this Char Broil smoker model.

While this Char Broil electric smoker only a 1200-watt, you’ll get plenty of heat with this smoker. There’s really no way to mess up smoking meats using the guide that comes with this smoker as well. What We Don’t Like

One of the main drawbacks with this unit is that assembly is required, and it does take some time to put together. There are about 16 screws that need to be mounted, so you definitely want to set aside some time to put it together. There are also no bells and whistles with this model, so what you see is what you get.

Some customers also had complaints that this smoker does not always heat up quickly, especially when there are colder temperatures outside.

However, this Cuisinart smoker offers 584 square inches of cooking space. It comes with a 1500-watt heating element that allows you to heat up to 400 degrees. This is by far one of the highest heat capacities available for electric compact smokers.

There are three cooking racks included, a water pan, drop pan, wood chip box, and full power unit. There is some assembly required but it’s not as difficult as the Char-Broil.
